The decapitated body of Juma Nuradin Kamil, a Christian convert from Islam, was found on Sept. 2 on the outskirts of Hudur City, Bakool, in southwestern Somalia.
According to local sources, he had been forced into a car on Aug. 21.
Christian leaders said the kidnapping and manner of execution suggest that he was being monitored by al-Shabab, a militant Muslim group that has vowed to rid Somalia of Christianity.
According to a leader in Somalia's underground church, a Christian who saw Kamil's body said it bore the marks of an al-Shabab killing. "It is usual for al-Shabab to decapitate those they suspect to have embraced the Christian faith, or sympathizers of Western ideals," the leader said. "Our brother accepted the Christian faith three years ago and was determined in his faith in God. We greatly miss him."

Please remember the family of Juma Nuradin Kamil in your prayers. Pray that Somali Christians will remain firm and undeterred in their faith, despite the daily dangers they face, and that God will turn the murderous tide of hatred in Somalia to love and faith in Jesus Christ.
"My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us." (Ps. 62:5-8)
